On November 04, 2021, the fire broke-out at Purok saeg, Barangay Calumpang, General Santos City, destroying hundreds of houses and other structures in one of the city’s most densely populated coastal communities, according to the City Social Welfare and Development Office, there were 470 families with 699 dependents affected by the incident. The incident happened at 1 o’clock in the afternoon and spread quickly through the four residential zones, causing extensive damage to their small business establishments, coastal means, and another source of income.
The Cronasia Foundation Collage, Inc. headed by Mr. Ronelo A. Saulong, the Social Work Department Head, extended assistance to the fire victims with the collaboration of the Social work Department, and the National Service Training Program, and with the presence of Mr. Renz Gortisano Dante and Mr. Salvador Titong Jr. and the active student leaders, who organize an initiative for providing and responding to the needs of fire victims at Purok Saeg such a foods, clothes, household, utensils, medicines and other assorted relief goods donated by the students as proudly Cronasians, organization councils, and from other sponsors. Purok Saeg and nearby communities are positively hoping for recovery and building a new life for their family and children.
